Biography
Kingdom Days is an alternative rock band that excels equally at hard-hitting rock tunes and memorable melodies. This four-piece from Malmö merge somber indie melodies and soulful rhythms with large rock choruses.
The poignant lyrics of vocalist and guitarist Jacob Lindblad speak of love in its many shapes and forms. Though it might get dark at times, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Lead guitarist Carl Magnusson shifts expertly between soulful chords evocative of John Mayer and soaring solos fit for arenas.
Drummer Albin Klang alternates between syncopated beats and thundering fills – leading the songs as much as he supports them. Bass player Oscar Hjelmstedt keeps the bottom end intact with rumbling rhythms and melodic lines taken from the post-punk playbook.
Put together, Kingdom Days is an alt-rock force to be reckoned with, cutting a perfect line between moody melodies and blistering rock bravado. 2021 marks the release of their first single, “Can You See,” a soaring rock song that encapsulates all the elements that make up the band’s unique DNA.
“Can You See” is one out of four songs that the band has up its sleeve. Recorded at the legendary Tambourine Studios (which has housed names such as The Cardigans and The Hives). Kingdom Days will release these songs during the first half of 2021. These are Kingdom Days, indeed.
